Gym opens at 7:30. A brief coaches/captains meeting will take place at  7:40 A.M. to go over the ground rules for the day. All players playing in the second match should be there at least a 1/2-hour early.  Any changes to format or playoff brackets will be handed out at the coaches meeting.

USVBA Rules will apply.

*Warm-up Format Definition
10 Minute warm up applies to the first 2 matches of the pool play each day and the first matches of bracket play.
A 2-4-4 format will be used for the 10 minute warm up. The first two minutes will be for ball handling, followed by 4 minutes
on the court for the serving team and then 4 minutes for the receiving team.
5 minute warm up applies to all other matches. A 1-2-2 format will be used for the 5 minute warm up.

 

Format- 3(4) team pools. Pool play will be 2 of 3 games rally scoring to 25 points with a

27 point cap. If needed 3rd game is to 15 no cap.

All teams will advance to one of the following playoff divisions; Gold (8), Silver (4)

Medal for 1st, 2nd place and 3rd of Gold, and 1st and 2nd of the Silver Divisions

 

Playoffs will begin after pool is completed.  A playoff match is two out of three games to 25 pt., no cap. If a deciding game is needed it will be 15-point rally scoring, switch at 8 points and no cap.

Make sure you check with the site director before leaving tournament.

Concessions and Tee Shirts will be on sale.

From Big Lake:  Hwy. 25 S. to Co. Rd. 75 (stoplight) turn left for approx. .8 mile.

 

From Buffalo:  Hwy. 25 N. to Co. Rd. 75 (stoplight) turn right for approx. .8 mile.

 

From Metro Area: I-94 to Exit 194.  At stoplight take right and go to next stoplight, take a left on either Co. Rd. 75 or East Broadway and go approx. .5 mile. (Across from hospital)

 

From St. Cloud:  I-94 to Exit 193, north (left) on Hwy. 25 to Co. Rd. 75 turn right for approx. .8 mile.

  1. 1.      Gym opens at 8:00 am.
  2. Brief coaches meeting will take place at 8:45am to go over everything and answer questions (in cafeteria area/right outside of gym).
  • Any changes in format will be handed out at this meeting/talked about.
  • Play-off brackets will be handed out at this meeting.
  1. 3.    USVBA rules will be applied.
  2. 4.      Warm-up
  • 10 minute warm-ups: 2-4-4 (ball handling, 4 minutes of court for each team).
  • 5 minute warm-ups: 1-2-2 (ball handling, 2 minutes of court for each team).
  1. 5.      Format
  • 2 (3 team) pools. 1 (4 team) pool.
  • All Pools:  2 games, rally scoring to 25 points with a 27 point cap.
  1. 6.      Officiating
  • All teams will be responsible for officiating at their scheduled time.
  • Please DO NOT be late to your court.
  • Coach must ref either up or down.
  1. 7.      All teams will advance to either a gold or silver division for tournament play.  Medals awarded to 1st and 2nd place in gold division and 1st place in silver division.
  2. 8.      You WILL NEED to provide your own balls.
  3. 9.      Playoffs will follow immediately after pool play.
  4. 10.  Division/Seed breakdown and placement in playoffs will be decided by:
    1. Win/Loss
    2. Point Differential
    3. Head to Head
    4. Coin Flip
    5. 11.  Admission:  Admission is $4 per adult, $2 students, 5 and under are free.
    6. 12.  Sportsmanship/Conduct
  • There will be no playing with balls (dribbling, passing, throwing, etc.) in the hallways.
  • Ice will be available to use for any injuries.

 

CONCESSIONS will be available.

TEAM PHOTOS will be taken with the option to purchase.

Tournament SHIRTS will also be available for sale.

Please: No coolers or crock-pots.

Monticello High School is located southeast of downtown Monticello on 5225 School Boulevard. Entrances and parking on both sides of the building.  Use East Parking Lot for fieldhouse events.

From Big Lake: Hwy. 25 S. to School Blvd. turn left, stay on School Blvd. for 1.3 miles to high school.

 

From Buffalo: Hwy. 25 N. to School Blvd., turn right, stay on School Blvd. for 1.3 miles to high school.

 

From Metro Area: I-94 to Exit 194. At stoplight take left on 18, go through next stoplight and at stop sign take right on School Blvd.
