Fundraisers are a necessary part of any not-for-profit organization. In order to help keep our program cost as low as possible (and considerably less than other programs in our area), we try to find easy fundraising opportunities for our players and their families.
The Rockford Area Athletic Association (RAAA) has several group fundraising opportunities throughout the year that include basketball tournaments, pancake breakfasts and helping with bingo on Monday nights. We rely on and greatly appreciate the parents and players that assist with these events and make them a success. Due to MSHSL guidelines, we are not allowed to grant scholarships.
Rockford JO Club Volleyball also needs to seek out individual fundraisers to directly support our program.
The 2011-2012 JO Volleyball program has already begun its fundraising efforts! The Sunday night Women’s Adult Volleyball League has asked us to provide refs and score board flippers for every night that they meet at the Rockford Community Center. In exchange they will be making a generous donation to our program that will help reduce the the amount we charge this year by $25 per player (5 shifts required for discount)!!

This is how the schedule is set up:
If you will be on the 12s team this year, we would like you to come in and work the flip score boards. You may also be asked to be the time keeper (keep an eye on the time on a stop watch). This is a great opportunity to ref before the JO season begins, because you will be asked to ref at JO tournaments as well, and practice now will help.
If you will be on the 14s, 16s or 18s teams this year, we would like you to come in and ref the games. You will be signaling the serve and make basic calls (in, out, net faults, etc.). Again, this is a great opportunity to ref before the JO season begins, because you will be asked to ref at JO tournaments as well, and practice now will help.
The league rules will be posted on the website soon. Please read them prior to coming to ref. If you are nervous about being the ref, you can fill in any “score keeper” openings for the 12s team and watch once or twice first.
There are 2 different time options to sign up for and you need to do 1 of each:
There are 2 lines that highlight two time slots (5:15-7:00) AND the (7:00 – 8:30) leagues.
There is a 3rd line that highlighs only 1 of the time slots, either (5:15-7:00) OR (7:00-8:30).
Parents can also fill in where needed!
This league will NOT RUN LATE! The community center needs to be empty by 8:30pm for security purposes.
Those families who choose to not participate can opt out and pay the full registration fee.
