The Rockford JO Club Volleyball Board & Coaches are excited about the 2012-2013 season. Training clinics have been completed, and teams are in the heart of the tournament season. There have been some exciting additions to the program this year, including a new program for 3rd and 4th grade girls. We will also be hosting our first ever Rockford Rumble tournament on March 2 and 3, 2103!
We have 7 teams for the 2012-2013 season: 10s, 11s, 12, 14s Black, 14s Green, 16s and 17s.
Online registration closed on Nov. 30, 2012 for grades 3 through 12. Team practices will began on December 2, 2012. Just as a reminder, while attendance at practice is not mandatory, you are a member of the team and you should try your best to be at all team activities. Also, your playing time at tournaments and play dates may be reduced due to an unexcused absence.
Tournaments for grades 5 and up will run from January through April. We are searching for opportunities for our 10s team (grades 3 and 4) to scrimmage teams from neighboring communities. To see the full schedule for all teams, click on the ”Master Schedule” tab, with team specific tournament schedules found under “Team Schedules”. Until tournament registrations are accepted, some dates will remain tentative.
Rockford JO Club Volleyball is registered with the North Country Region (NCR) Volleyball League. For more information on this league, go to www.ncrusav.org. All events we attend must be a part of the NCR league to be covered by our insurance!
We participate in the Heartland Rox Playdates, as well as the Heartland Mid-Winter Classic. The Heartland Playdates are held on Sundays in either Monticello or Big Lake. The tournaments are located in Onamia, Oglivie or Mora and may be held on a Saturday or Sunday based on age group. Heartland does not charge admission to attend any of their events.
When extra tournaments are scheduled, we look for tournaments that are within a 2 hour drive and are sanctioned by North Country Region Volleyball. We also take into consideration the availability of hotels, the age of the players and coaches work schedules. We will also host our own tournament this year (Rockford Rumble) on March 2 and 3, 2013! All Rockford JO Club Volleyball families will be asked to volunteer to help at that tournament.
