Are you ready for some football? The Rockford Youth Football Association is very excited about our next season of play. Listed below is all of the information you need to know, Go Rockets!
Participation in RAAA tackle football is grades 3rd – 6th. Cost to participate is $75.00 as well as a $25.00 Jersey fee. The Jerseys are multi-year, which means they can be used as long as they fit as they are yours to keep. A separate deposit check of 150.00 made out to RAAA is also required when picking up equipment. (Deposit check destroyed upon return of equipment.)
Practices are Tuesday/Thursdays 6:00 – 7:30pm, with 1 Saturday for the annual “Rocket Preview” Media Day. 3rd grade players play only against each other in house, meaning not against any other communities. They do suit up but have limited contact in a very controlled setting. 4th grade players will progress by playing other 4th grade teams in controlled scrimmages when available. 5th and 6th grade players are divided equally into teams and will progress into playing games against other communities. Some night games when available as well as the 3 Jamboree’s on Saturday mornings. The season will kick off with the Rockford Jamboree followed by 2 other Jamborees TBD for our 5th/6th grade teams.
Equipment hand out is August 13th (6:00 – 7:30), and our official season will begin August 18th and continue thru October 8th, practicing every Tues / Thurs with the exception of no practice SEPT 3rd. Youth night is at half time of last home varsity game and equipment turn in on October 12th (6:00 – 7:30). Deadline to register is August 13th. A $25.00 late fee will be assessed to all registrants beginning on August 14th.

We will be issuing equipment from 6:00pm – 7:30pm at the RMS shed. All registration materials, including deposit check and signed waiver are due at this date and time.

We have held a couple of fundraising activities this past year and are going to be asking for additional funds in any manner possible and welcome any input or donations on your behalf at this time. We also are going to need your help in coaching our youngsters; we will provide a program wide playbook to follow so no need to worry about previous coaching experience.
